ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,368,834, issued on July 22, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).
"Vehicle sensor assembly" was invented by Michael Robertson Jr. (Garden City, Mich.) and Venkatesh Krishnan (Canton, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vehicle includes a vehicle body and an optical sensor supported by the vehicle body and defining a field-of-view. The vehicle includes a transparent shield in the field-of-view, the transparent shield having an outer surface. The vehicle includes a camera facing the outer surface of the transparent shield."
The patent was filed on Dec. 15, 2022, under Application No. 18/066,399.
