ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,379,024, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Ford Global Technologies LLC (Dearborn, Mich.).
"Vent device" was invented by Robert Sunde (Macomb, Mich.), Emad Al-Regib (Canton, Mich.) and Niaz Khwaja (Livonia, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and systems are provided for a vent device. In one example, a system includes a vent device including a body that extends through a housing, wherein a spherical flow element is arranged in the body adjacent to a cap through which gases flow. The cap includes openings between it and the body that allow gases to vent to an ambient atmosphere."
