ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,717, issued on July 29, was assigned to Fluid Quip Technologies LLC (Springfield, Ohio).

"System and process for adding pre-fermentation separated non-fermentables to a post-fermentation stream" was invented by Michael Franko (Denver), John Kwik (Bellbrook, Ohio) and Neal Jakel (Cedar Rapids, Iowa).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system and process is disclosed for adding pre-fermentation separated non-fermentables, e.g., fiber, germ/oil, and/or protein, to a post-fermentation stream in a corn (or similar carbohydrate-containing grain) dry milling process for making alcohol and/or other biofuels/biochemical.
