ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,398,734, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to Flowserve Pte. Ltd. (Singapore).

"Pistons for use in fluid exchange devices and related devices, systems, and methods" was invented by Norman R. Le Doux Jr. (Orefield, Pa.), Jason Bandi (Irving, Texas), Neil Havrilla (Coplay, Pa.), David Olexson (Irving, Texas) and Andreas Dreiss (Hamburg, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Pistons and related methods may be configured to separate fluids and to at least partially prohibit one fluid from traveling to one side of the piston from another side of the piston. Pressure exchange devices and systems may include such pistons."
