ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,450,462, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Fingerprint Cards Anacatum IP AB (Goteborg, Switzerland).

"Method for enabling fingerprint authentication for a smart card" was invented by Haran Zuckerman (Skaevinge, Denmark), Anders O. Nielsen (Frederiksberg C, Denmark) and Peter Bjorn-Jorgensen (Roskilde, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to a method for progressively enrolling a user of a smart card to thereafter enable fingerprint authentication for the smart card. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding smart card and to a computer program product."
