ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,231, issued on July 15, was assigned to FERMENTALG (Libourne, France).
"Oil of microorganisms rich in docosahexaenoic acid" was invented by Francois Godart (Vayres, France) and Adeline Lapendrie (Bonzac, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an oil of microorganisms rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22:6n3), comprising more than 60% of DHA relative to the total mass of fat and to the use thereof for human or animal feed, in particular for feeding infants, children, or pregnant or lactating women."
