ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,288,539, issued on April 29, was assigned to Fender Musical Instruments Corp. (Scottsdale, Ariz.).
"Stringed instrument bridge" was invented by Yuriy Shishkov (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A stringed instrument can utilize a bridge assembly that allows for efficient and accurate adjustment of a saddle relative to an instrument body. The instrument body physically supports a bridge base beneath a plurality of strings with the bridge base constructed with a groove in which a tone plate and saddle are each positioned.
