ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,601, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to FAST IP LLC (Lindon, Utah).
"Rapid-entry footwear having a transforming footbed" was invented by Craig Cheney (Lindon, Utah), Seth Munger (Springville, Utah) and Bradley Johnson (Draper, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A rapid-entry shoe with a sole portion and a footbed that slide, pivot or translate relative to each other to provide both an open configuration (for ease of donning or doffing by a foot) and a closed configuration (for securement of a foot)."
The patent was filed on Jan. 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/407,199.
