ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,262,777, issued on April 1, was assigned to FAST IP LLC (Lindon, Utah).
"Rapid-entry footwear having an arm for expanding an opening" was invented by Craig Cheney (Lindon, Utah) and Seth Munger (Springville, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A shoe upper having a plurality of arms that expand the shoe opening when the topline of the upper is compressed toward the sole portion of the shoe."
