ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,014, issued on May 13, was assigned to FARNEX Inc. (Tokyo).
"External preparation comprising non-lamellar liquid crystal-forming lipid" was invented by Kenji Sugibayashi (Saitama, Japan), Hiroaki Todo (Saitama, Japan), Ichiro Hijikuro (Kanagawa, Japan), Masahisa Tanomura (Kanagawa, Japan) and Sayaka Mori (Kanagawa, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an external preparation that is well retained on a living body surface and is capable of increasing drug permeability, in particular, an external preparation comprising a non-lamellar liquid crystal-forming lipid and a drug."
