ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,276,047, issued on April 15, was assigned to Far Eastern New Century Corp. (Taipei, Taiwan).

"Alternating color fabric" was invented by Ruey-Fen Liao (Taoyuan, Taiwan), Hsin-Kai Lai (Taoyuan, Taiwan), I-Chun Tang (Taoyuan, Taiwan) and Kuo-Chih Cheng (Taoyuan, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An alternating color fabric includes a base portion woven by first yarns, a pleat portion woven by second yarns, and a hydrophilic resin layer formed on the pleat portion.
