US Patent Issued to Evergreens on Feb. 18 for "Farming system" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,225,859, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Evergreens LLC (Hudson, Mass.).

"Farming system" was invented by Mark Vanacore (Arlington, Mass.), Ahmad Zameli (Cambridge, Mass.) and Jonathan Toll (Medford, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments disclosed herein include a container for growing crops. In some embodiments, the container includes a hydroponic irrigation zone arranged to provide hydroponic irrigation to a first portion of a root zone of the crops, an aeroponic irrigation zone arranged to provide aeroponic irrigation to a second portion of the root zone, and a growing surface.
