US Patent Issued to Eurothreads on Aug. 12 for "Eight-dimensional barbed surgical thread" (Wisconsin Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,258, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Eurothreads LLC (Cheyenne, Wyo.).

"Eight-dimensional barbed surgical thread" was invented by Tamara Moore (Hudson, Wis.) and Laurie Wall (Hudson, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An eight-dimensional barbed surgical thread including a central core and eight first barbs. The central core has a circumference, a proximal end and a distal end that is opposite the proximal end. The eight first barbs are positioned around the circumference of the central core so that the first barbs are radially adjacent to each other and obliquely extend from the central core."
