ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,680, issued on July 8, was assigned to Essenlix Corp. (Monmouth Junction, N.J.).

"Assay with rapid temperature change" was invented by Stephen Y. Chou (Princeton, N.J.), Wei Ding (East Windsor, N.J.), Yufan Zhang (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) and Ji Qi (Hillsborough, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides devices, systems, and methods for rapid and easy-to-use in sample thermal cycling or temperature changes for the facilitation of reactions such as but not limited to PCR."

The patent was filed on Feb. 15, 2018, under Application No. 16/484,998.
