US Patent Issued to Escape Therapeutics on March 18 for "Mesenchymal stem cells with enhanced immunosuppressive capability" (California Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,402, issued on March 18, was assigned to Escape Therapeutics Inc. (Turlock, Calif.).

"Mesenchymal stem cells with enhanced immunosuppressive capability" was invented by Basil M. Hantash (East Palo Alto, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions of HLA-G+ MSC and methods of using them, including methods of transplanting compositions of HLA-G+ MSC into human recipients, are provided. Also provided are methods of preparing compositions of HLA-G+ MSC, including by treatment with DNA methylation inhibitors."
