"Cryoprobe" was invented by Joerg Kronenthaler (Hirrlingen, Germany) and Marcus Adler (Burladingen, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cryoprobe having a head to which cryofluid is supplied via a capillary tube. A hose serves for removal of the cryofluid, wherein the capillary tube extends through the lumen thereof. The capillary tube comprises a flexible section that is bridged by a pull element.
