ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,300,776, issued on May 13, was assigned to EPISTAR Corp. (Hsinchu, Taiwan).

"Light-emitting device" was invented by Min-Hsun Hsieh (Hsinchu, Taiwan) and Shih-An Liao (Hsinchu, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A light-emitting device includes a carrier, a light-emitting unit disposed on the carrier, a reflective element arranged on the light-emitting unit, and an optical element arranged on the carrier and surrounding the light-emitting unit."

The patent was filed on July 1, 2022, under Application No. 17/856,465.
