US Patent Issued to enVVeno Medical on June 17 for "Biological valve for venous insufficiency" (California Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,881, issued on June 17, was assigned to enVVeno Medical Corp. (Irvine, Calif.).

"Biological valve for venous insufficiency" was invented by Norman Jaffe (Dana Point, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bioprosthetic valve for repairing a deep venous insufficiency in a subject includes a single leaflet from a xenogeneic heart valve attached at natural margins of attachment to a patch of valve wall tissue. The patch may extend axially above and below the leaflet and circumferentially on either side of the leaflet to provide a region for attaching the patch to a fenestration in a host vein.
