ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,235,276, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to Encodia Inc. (San Diego).

"Macromolecule analysis employing nucleic acid encoding" was invented by Mark S. Chee (Encinitas, Calif.), Kevin L. Gunderson (Encinitas, Calif.) and Michael Phillip Weiner (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for analyzing macromolecules, including peptides, polypeptides, and proteins, employing nucleic acid encoding is disclosed."
