ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,379,998, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to EMC IP Holding Co. LLC (Hopkinton, Mass.).

"Multiple virtual namespaces on a single physical namespace to avoid file system restarts and improve availability" was invented by Shashikanth Lakshmikantha (San Jose, Calif.) and Sankalp Suhas Taralekar (Santa Clara, Calif.).
