ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,270,550, issued on April 8, was assigned to Electrolux Home Products Inc. (Charlotte, N.C.).

"Housing assembly for an appliance" was invented by Gregory Funk (Nashville, Tenn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An appliance housing assembly is configured for improved load distribution. The assembly includes first and second side panels, each including a pair of vertical support columns configured to carry the loads of the appliance to the appliance support surface. The assembly further includes common components that can be use across various different assembly configurations."
