ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,420,364, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Electroimpact Inc. (Mukilteo, Wash.).

"Cold working tool for openings in metal pieces" was invented by Paul Joseph Shemeta (Seattle) and Conner Eugene Krezman (Everett, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A segmented mandrel for cold working having two forward segments and two rear segments positioned between the two forward segments, when fitted together have an approximately circular outline. The two forward segments and the two rear segments are movable separately and together."

The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2022, under Application No. 18/068,854.
