ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,433,551, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Egg Medical Inc. (Arden Hills, Minn.).

"Display device for reducing radiation exposure to medical personnel" was invented by Robert F. Wilson (Roseville, Minn.), John P. Gainor (Mendota Heights, Minn.), James Montague (Elk River, Minn.) and Uma S. Valeti (St. Paul, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A transparent radiation shield, attachable to a patient support platform, and movable to shield a physician from imaging radiation, includes a transparent computer display that is controllable to provide a data overlay on the shield pertaining to patient data and/or x-ray images."
