ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,290,436, issued on May 6, was assigned to EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES Corp. (Irvine, Calif.).
"Prosthetic heart valve" was invented by Nikolai Gurovich (Hadera, Israel), Michael Bukin (Pardes Hanna, Israel), Elena Sherman (Pardes Hana, Israel), Tamir S. Levi (Zikhron Yaakov, Israel), Ziv Yohanan (Kfar Hahoresh, Israel), Gil Senesh (Adi, Israel), Dikla Kersh (Karkur, Israel), Alexey Tsypenyuk (Draper, Utah), Waina Michelle Chu (Tustin, Calif.) and Alexander Barash (Tzoran, Israel).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A prosthetic heart valve can include a radially expandable and compressible frame having an inflow end portion and an outflow end portion...
