US Patent Issued to Edwards Lifesciences CardiAQ on June 3 for "Replacement heart valves, delivery devices and methods" (Massachusetts, Connecticut Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,318,290, issued on June 3, was assigned to Edwards Lifesciences CardiAQ LLC (Irvine, Calif.).

"Replacement heart valves, delivery devices and methods" was invented by Arshad Quadri (West Hartford, Conn.) and J. Brent Ratz (Winchester, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for implanting a replacement heart valve at a native valve location between an atrium and a ventricle of a patient includes a replacement valve having an expandable frame and a plurality of prosthetic valve leaflets positioned within the expandable frame.
