ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,264,331, issued on April 1, was assigned to EDITAS MEDICINE INC. (Cambridge, Mass.).
"Systems and methods for one-shot guide RNA (ogRNA) targeting of endogenous and source DNA" was invented by Ari E. Friedland (Boston), Hariharan Jayaram (Cambridge, Mass.) and Barrett Ethan Steinberg (Cambridge, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Engineered nucleic acids encoding genome editing system components are provided, as are engineered RNA-guided nucleases that include inserts encoded in part by cellular genomic or other sequences recognized by guide RNAs."
The patent was filed on May 12, 2023, under Application No. 18/316,880.
