According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A shredder blade assembly includes a rotor having a plurality of pockets. The shredder blade assembly further includes a plurality of knife blades which are each disposed in one of the plurality of pockets. The knife blades are secured into the pockets by a compression force applied from a periphery of the rotor and in a direction towards a shaft aperture in the rotor."
