ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,468,900, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to eBay Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Catalog-based item listing enhancement" was invented by Lili Qiang (Los Altos, Calif.) and Dongdong Guo (Saratoga, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Catalog-based item listing enhancement is described. A matching item from a collection of items may be selected to match an item listing by at least one of an aspect matching model trained using a catalog of the collection of items and a language model trained using a database of item listings. The item listing may be updated based on an entry for the matching item in the catalog."
