ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,674, issued on April 29, was assigned to eBay Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Nucleic acid taggants" was invented by Sergio Pinzon Gonzales Jr. (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for marking/tagging objects for identification. In particular, tagging objects with a nucleic acid taggant (genetic tag based merchandise authentication)."
The patent was filed on April 27, 2022, under Application No. 17/731,006.
