ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,954, issued on June 24, was assigned to EAZISTEP LLC (Provo, Utah).
"Hybrid hands-free crutch" was invented by Ildar Fazulyanov (Lehi, Utah) and Joshua Vanderpool (Provo, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are embodiments for a walking assist device. The device may be capable of transformation into a knee scooter configuration and a hands-free crutch configuration for walking or standing while freeing the hands. The device may also include an elastic member for decreasing the load rate of the device."
The patent was filed on Jan. 25, 2023, under Application No. 18/159,439.
