ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,240,990, issued on March 4, was assigned to Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, Tenn.).

"Coatings with improved scratch resistance" was invented by Stacey James Marsh (Church Hill, Tenn.), Philip Jerome Geiger (Kingsport, Tenn.) and John Evan Boisseau (Kingsport, Tenn.).
