US Patent Issued to DSM IP ASSETS on Nov. 25 for "Process for production of new sulfolenic intermediates" (Swiss Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,479,814, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to DSM IP ASSETS B.V. (Maastricht, Netherlands).

"Process for production of new sulfolenic intermediates" was invented by Werner Bonrath (Kaiseraugst, Switzerland), Marc-Andre Mueller (Kaiseraugst, Switzerland), Bettina Wuestenberg (Kaiseraugst, Switzerland) and Viktor Zimmermann (Kaiseraugst, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a new process for the production of new specific intermediates, which are preferably used in the production of vitamin A, vitamin A acetate, or Beta-carotene and derivatives thereof, e.g. canthaxanthin, astaxanthin or zeaxanthin."
