US Patent Issued to Dropbox on July 22 for "Server-side rendering password protected documents" (New York, California, New Jersey Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,367,301, issued on July 22, was assigned to Dropbox Inc. (San Francisco).

"Server-side rendering password protected documents" was invented by Aditya Acharya (New York), Jingsi Zhu (Jersey City, N.J.), Sarah Vente (New York), Ian Macartney (San Francisco) and Ahmet Emre Unal (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In some examples, a system for server-side rendering of password-protected files can receive, from a client device, a request to view a file on the system, determine that the file should be converted to a different format prior to presentation at the client device, and determine that the file is a password-protected file....
