ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. PP37,035, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Driscoll's Inc. (Watsonville, Calif.).
"Blackberry plant named 'DrisBlackThirtySix'" was invented by Brando Alvarez Rodriguez (Jalisco, Mexico), Gavin R. Sills (Gilroy, Calif.), Raymond L. Jacobs III (Aptos, Calif.) and Carmen Marin (Jalisco, Mexico).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct variety of blackberry plant named 'DrisBlackThirtySix', particularly selected for its plant vigor, the size and firmness of fruit, and high yield potential, is disclosed."
The patent was filed on Feb. 13, 2025, under Application No. 19/053,014.
