ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,448,793, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Dragon Screed LLC (Quincy, Ill.).

"Screed rail system for pouring concrete against a wall" was invented by Luke Terstriep (Quincy, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A concrete screeding apparatus for a wall captured concrete pour includes a round screed rail with a top edge that defines the level of the screeded concrete, and a stake base assembly with a rail support for holding the screed rail. A rebar stake is driven into the soil through the stake base assembly, and a rail support sits atop the rebar stake."

The patent was filed on Feb. 11, 2022, under Application No. 17/670,409.
