ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,687, issued on March 18, was assigned to Dow Global Technologies LLC (Midland, Mich.).
"Methods of etherification" was invented by Wen-Sheng Lee (Midland, Mich.), Dean Millar (Midland, Mich.) and Stephen W. King (League City, Texas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards methods of etherification including modifying a zeolite catalyst with phosphorus to provide a phosphorus modified zeolite catalyst; and contacting the phosphorus modified zeolite catalyst with an olefin and an alcohol to produce a monoalkyl ether."
