ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,508,964, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Dorel Juvenile Group Inc. (Foxboro, Mass.).

"Juvenile restraint" was invented by Said S. Nakhla (Daphne, Ala.) and Jonathan M. Holtman (Brownsburg, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A juvenile restraint includes a ventilation system and a juvenile seat having a seat bottom and a seat back coupled to the seat bottom to support a child restrained in the juvenile seat. The seat back includes a backrest coupled to the seat bottom and a headrest coupled to the backrest to move up and down relative to the backrest."

The patent was filed on Jan. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/411,346.
