ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,231,603, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corp. (San Francisco).
"Echo residual suppression" was invented by Ning Wang (Epping, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of audio processing includes calculating an estimated echo residual power based on a long-term amount of echo cancellation as indicated by an estimated power gain profile, where the estimated power gain profile is based on a reference signal and an echo residual signal. Echo suppression of the echo residual may then be performed based on the estimated echo residual power."
