ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,283,931, issued on April 22, was assigned to Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corp. (San Francisco).

"Audio control using auditory event detection" was invented by Brett G. Crockett (Brisbane, Calif.) and Alan J. Seefeldt (Alameda, Calif.).
