ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,246,166, issued on March 11, was assigned to Dexcom Inc. (San Diego).

"Integrated insulin delivery system with continuous glucose sensor" was invented by John Michael Dobbles (San Clemente, Calif.), Apurv Ullas Kamath (San Diego), Aarthi Mahalingam (San Diego) and James H. Brauker (Addison, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods for integrating a continuous glucose sensor 12, including a receiver 14, a medicament delivery device 16, a controller module, and optionally a single point glucose monitor 18 are provided. Integration may be manual, semi-automated and/or fully automated."
