ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,372,225, issued on July 29, was assigned to Devos LLC (Springville, Utah).

"Tripod for pole mounted lantern" was invented by Chris Nelson (Provo, Utah) and Richard Smith (Spanish Fork, Utah).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A tripod stand is configured to support a pole mounted lantern. A bar is carried by a leg and biased by a spring into engagement with a pair of tracks with a wavy profile to resist displacement of the bar out of a valley of the wavy profile. The leg releasably retains a spike to secure the tripod stand to the ground."
