ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,441,090, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to DEPCO-TRH PTY Ltd. (Victoria, Australia).
"High opacity laminate surface" was invented by David Price (Williamstown, Australia) and Joseph Giansiracusa (Ascot Vale, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A decorative and/or functional laminate using a nonwoven glass fibre material impregnated and or coated with a novel mixture of at least styrene maleic anhydride copolymer amic acid and cyanuric acid and melamine to provide opacity and a laminate surface suitable for printing or painting and/or sealing."
