ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,430,450, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Dell Products LP (Round Rock, Texas).

"Recovery key management and storage" was invented by Kearson McNulty (Austin, Texas), David Dyson (Pflugerville, Texas), Marcus Molner (Austin, Texas) and Jimmy Griffith (Pflugerville, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An information handling system retrieves a recovery key and secures the recovery key by encrypting the recovery key. Subsequent to securing the recovery key, the system injects the recovery key within a basic input/output system."
