US Patent Issued to Dell Products on Sept. 23 for "Cache layout optimization" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,423,240, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Dell Products LP (Round Rock, Texas).

"Cache layout optimization" was invented by Malak Alshawabkeh (Franklin, Mass.), Kaustubh Sahasrabudhe (Westborough, Mass.) and Ramesh Doddaiah (Westborough, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "One or more aspects of the present disclosure relate to cache layout optimization. In embodiments, an input/output (IO) workload is received by a storage array. Further, cache slot allocations are dynamically adjusted for each cache segment of global memory based on one or more characteristics of the IO workload."
