ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,333,037, issued on June 17, was assigned to Dell Products LP (Round Rock, Texas).

"On-demand operational airgap policy-value threshold" was invented by Ofir Ezrielev (Beer Sheva, Israel), Jehuda Shemer (Kfar Saba, Israel) and Amihai Savir (Newton, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "One example method includes defining an airgap control policy that specifies a threshold data value, generating a value for a set of data, determining whether the value that has been generated for the data meets or exceeds the threshold data value, and opening the air gap when the value that has been generated for the data meets or exceeds the threshold data...
