ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,362,919, issued on July 15, was assigned to Dell Products LP (Round Rock, Texas).

"Enforcing access control for embedded controller resources and interfaces" was invented by Richard M. Tonry (Georgetown, Texas), Adolfo S. Montero (Pflugerville, Texas), Nikolay Kalaichidi (Austin, Texas) and Venkata Ramakrishna Rao Atta (Hyderabad, India).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An information handling system may establish a secure channel between an embedded controller and a processor, and request access to a resource of the embedded controller through the secured channel. The system may also receive a response to the request via the secure channel...
