ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,382,216, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Dell Products LP (Round Rock, Texas).

"Embedded damper speaker design" was invented by Jing-Tang Wu (New Taipei, Taiwan) and Bo-Wei Chu (New Taipei, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An embedded-damper speaker for an information handling system includes a top speaker housing, a bottom speaker housing, and a damper. The bottom speaker housing is in physical communication with the top speaker housing. The damper is secured in between the top and bottom speaker housings. The damper reduces acoustic resonance between the embedded-damper speaker and the information handling system."
