ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,532,802, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to DEERE & COMPANY (Moline, Ill.).

"Systems and methods for selective fertilizer placement" was invented by Paresh Bharatiya (Pune, India), Michael C. Steele (Orion, Ill.) and Lester Mcmackin (Columbus, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Locations of seeds in a field can be identified using event-based processing or frequency-based processing. A material is applied to the field, based upon the seed locations."
