ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,508,615, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to DEERE & COMPANY (Moline, Ill.).

"Front-mount cameras on agricultural sprayer with real-time, on-machine target sensor" was invented by Steven Rees (Top Camp, Australia), Tarik Loukili (Urbandale, Iowa) and Michael P. Schlax (Yarmouth, Maine).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A camera is mounted on the front of a sprayer. Targets are identified from images generated by the camera. The location of the target is identified relative to a nozzle on the sprayer. A control signal is generated to control the timing and duration of actuation of the nozzle."
