ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,398,362, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to DANISCO US INC. (Palo Alto, Calif.).
"Yeast with improved alcohol production" was invented by Celia Emily Gaby Payen (Wilmington, Del.) and Min Qi (Hockessin, Del.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described are compositions and methods relating to yeast cells having a genetic mutation that give rise to increased alcohol production. Such yeast is well-suited for use in alcohol production to reduce fermentation time and/or increase yields."
The patent was filed on June 4, 2018, under Application No. 16/619,565.
